How to play
It takes about 30 seconds to learn and a few minutes to play.
The goal
Every tile on the 4×4 grid belongs to one of four hidden groups. Your job is to find all four.
Making a guess
Tap four tiles you think share a theme, then press Submit.
- Right: the group locks in place and its theme is revealed.
- Wrong: the tiles shake and you use up one of your four guesses.
- Get within one tile of a group and you'll see a “One away…” nudge.
Four wrong guesses and the puzzle ends — we'll show you the answers.
The four colours
Each group has a difficulty colour, from easiest to trickiest:
- Yellow — straightforward.
- Green — a little thought needed.
- Blue — tricky.
- Purple — usually wordplay, or a tile that means two things.
Watch for tiles that look like they belong in an obvious group but are really the bait for a harder one.
One puzzle a day
Everyone gets the same puzzle each day, so you can compare with friends. A new one lands at midnight. Miss a day? The archive has every past puzzle.
Sharing your result
When you finish, hit Share result to copy an emoji grid of your guesses — no spoilers, pastes cleanly into any chat.
